Ensuring that your social media accounts have necessary privacy settings may be important for your mental health, wellbeing and safety as an LGBTQ+ person.

If you are worried about family or friends seeing that you have ‘liked’ our Facebook page, you can hide that you have done so by selecting the “Likes” from the dropdown menu on your profile, under “More”. On the top right, click on the pencil and select “Edit Privacy”. Click on the people next to “Other” and change the setting to “Only Me”.

Twitter allows you to set your account to private, so people can only read your tweets with your permission.

We’d also like to reassure you that our mailing list is confidential. The society does not disclose the mailing list to third parties, and committee members who have access to it will never reveal your membership.
